The Global In-House Center (GIC) landscape is enduring a massive transformational journey. GICs are no longer the low-cost centers catering transactional and mundane repetitive tasks for parent company to leverage cost arbitrage. They are maturing into Innovation Centers, Centers of Excellence, and Program Management Offices that anchor strategic initiatives and numerous value-added services for the parent organization – as they vie for a bigger share in India's digitization growth story.
In the last few years alone, over 70 new companies set up GICs in India, taking the employee headcount to over 75,000. And now with more than 1000 GICs in India, contributing over $ 19Bn in revenues, the market segment has been addressed only lately by IT Service Providers in India.
